Family Background and Early Life

Dominic Logan, the father of Theodore, was born a man of Urstwater, and was a strong shipwright there, his family being native to the city. He married Yaleen, the daughter of a rich farmer. Dominic supported House Orbagon in 886 over House Shrane, and was therefore forced out of the city when the Orbagons were defeated in the faction struggles. He and his family moved in with his cousin Nathian, who possessed an estate in the Greening. It was there he met a neighbor, a retired Cerulean follower named Renstad, who taught him the ways of weapons and Mandadorian lore. Late in 886, the Logan clan won a skirmish against goblins while the clan was taking land for new farms, and thus moved dangerously close to the Temple of Kant and the strange people of Semport. The Logans eve burned the goblin caves.

It was then when Setherethek the green dragon came killed nearly the whole Logan clan. Goblins came with the beast. He taunted Theodore's mother before he ate her, and slew his three elder brothers with a cloud of gas. Wistax the goblin war-chief captured his father. Renstad saved Theodore on horseback, and took him to St. Barst's. Theodore stayed for a time with Renstad, training and farming. At times they would ride into town, where the archbishop Lumnis heard his story and personally consoled Theodore. It was Ananaron Arnis who told him the way of wyrm-slayer paladins. There was no possibility of paladinhood at this time.

In 887, the Forest returned. Soon after, Renstad's hamlet feared the hunting of Setherethek. Several were killed. They built a fort of wood as goblins came as well. The battle continued for 9 days, but at last the dragon himself came, smashed their wall, and ate Theodore's young girlfriend Thalia. Renstad fought the dragon, and though he wounded him, was himself clawed to death. The dragon stole Thalia's family platinum. Theodore himself was pushed into the mud until almost killed, but the dragon was slashed away by Renstad's double, for he was Blessed. Theodore woke up 9 days later, and after 9 days of prayer, he saw a vision of utter darkness pierced by a gleaming paladin riding upon a burnished dragon of bronze, and beheld a wall of chromatic dragons coming towards this paladin. Theodore promptly announced his intention to be a paladin.

Theodore's uncle Nathian arrived soon after to claim the boy. They moved to the secret town of Scithio, of which Nathian was a charter member, and soon after became one of the ten town councilmen. Nathian took a new wife, who has since had a child from him, and has advocated for the election of Rarkath the Hunter as baron. Lumnis assigned Father Maybar and the Deacon Welnar to help Theodore study the faith. Biventis the Neutralian and Terem the Lenian came to hone Theodore's skill in combat.

Adventures

I oft times reflect on my decision to take up blade and armor, how different would the world around me be? The vile green Drake and its kin not put to ground by my comrades and I. The many ogres that would be left to pillage and murder. The towns I have aided, the companions I have gained and lost. Life on the road, trying as it may be, is a life that I have found most suitable.

The Death of Theodore Logan, the Third Day of the Festivals of the Dance, 888

After slaying the green dragon Dolnog and thus saving his companions and many others from a cruel death, Theodore at length assaulted into the interior of Nicamur's Citadel, slaying a dozen hobgoblins and fighting his way into the castle dungeons. Growing reluctant to continue his butchery of such lesser foes and finding himself surrounded by them, Theodore demanded of their commander a summons of Baldrich Kaernst, the evil halfling knight that had already killed young Theodore but a few days before. Kaernst soon came, and after setting up a dueling circle in the jail, cleaved Theodore with two great slashes of his sword before decapitating the paladin unceremoniously.
