Background
Upon the death of the heigimone Grarinos, the infamy of the founding members was laid in adamant. A proposal was to be made to the young Count Alexis, however that encounter was never to be. The copper Dragon Smelternau captured the party and sent them under his mountain. Upon their return the group decided to return to the Castle Blackstone and take residence there, with our without the support of the Count. Shortly after a Kanosian league was convened to decide the fate of the intruders. Foolishly bartering on behalf of the newcomers, Lord Marnaus, managed to avoid war, although only temporarily.
Territory
Blackstone
The primary domain of the founding members is the castle Blackstone and its surrounding valley. A peace treaty and non-aggression arrangement was established with the village of Mazaros. The primary components to this deal was their own governmental autonomy and the construction of a wall around the village proper.
As for the fortress, the party members paid, in earnest, a tremendous amount of wealth to rebuild and fortify the castle.
- 50,000 gp to clear the main three floors, replacing all damaged metal and stonework
- 24,000 gp for the court yard and front gates
- 12,000 gp to groom and contour the switchbacks that wind up to the castle
- 75,000 gp (40 from gems) to hire crew and pay dwarven miners
- 2,000 gp for Triumvirate flag
Despite these costs the castle was of very little use given its remote location.
Asparo
After the assassination of the ranger Imanos, the castle and its surrounding areas were to be seized by The Triumvirate. The good hunting grounds and sizable fortifications would provide a good wartime fortress, with the fortress Blackstone serving as the winter retreat. The Exile deployed a pair of his agents to secure all information as to its status.
Mount Kroll
This stout keep was once property of Hathbell, bequested to Avish by Lord Maranus. Located near a stream called Savane Creek, an outlet of the Feyehr Glacier. The humble dwelling was reconstructed as part of an espionage treaty established by the Lord of Hathbell and the leader of the Gold Dragon Clan, Avish the Exile. The three level fort watches over the mountain valley once occipuied by the Surenee clan, a human hill tribe of reasonable note. The Surenee, loyal to Hathbell, fell to the extreme cruelty and violence of the Ninja of Yalthos during his war with the previous Kanosian League.
Having been dismantled under Yalthos orders, this keeps was rebuilt under orders from the new ninja master. This satellite keep was meant to protect an ancient keep and stable of griffons on the adjacent Mount Kestel. That keep, or what remains has not yet fallen under the jurisdiction of the young Exile, but his ambitions are grand. He hopes to take the second keep built by the imperial governor Anthes and rebuild the stables which now lie in ruin.
Mount Kroll has been largely abandoned by the ninja, holding only the most necessary of supplies as an emergency outpost. The retreat from this location was in part due to the fact that only days after the primary repairs were complete, the upper level was razed by the Copper Dragon Smelternau. At this event Avish spared the dragon from the hateful wrath of Major Fathian, and the dragon is now in his debt.
The Secret Adamant Tower
Despite the nasty incident with the demons of the tower, the secret fortress in the mountains to the north west of Blackstone is the primary residence of Lars St. Morning Glory. Having lost some of its power, the mage currently debates releasing all the souls from Besedol's wand of Fire to recharge the fortress.
Other Locations
The hills of the Mazaros valley are full of many small outposts currently being renovated by the Triumvirate.
