Mandorel

A cartoonist's mocking depiction of Mandorel, circa winter 888 A.M.

Early Life

Born in Tessleton, in one of the satellite villages, to impoverished farmers. His mother, father and numerous siblings, who had by then moved into the town proper, were all lost in the great fire of 883.

Family

Serrana Samervane, maternal aunt to Mandorel, hedge wizard

A sage herbalist, and capable astrologer, the dirty middle-aged woman was long known for her petty cures and magical baubles. She was at times persecuted in the satellite villages nearby Tessleton, and was once stoned after church at the urging of the local clergy. Although Mandadorian, she indulges in the henotheistic paganism which can still be found in the Dantarethian hinterlands. After her stoning, she moved with her husband Dahmold to what would later become Triwaters, near the Northwaters River.

Dahmold Samervane, married to Mandorel's maternal aunt, "Uncle Dahmold"

A stern, tall (6' 5) and strong old man, who married Serrana when they were quite young. They have had four children that survived infancy, but their daughter Eladra died during the great fire. All three of their sons serve in Balathar's army. Dahmold long served in the militia of Tessleton, and has engaged in many skirmishes against goblins and kobolds throughout the years. Upon reaching his seat on the town council, Dahmold retired from the militia as a Master Sergeant.

Dahmold was once on the town council at Tessleton, but he was not listened to when evil took over the town. After the persecution of his wife, he left Tessleton for lands near the future Triwaters. A staunch Mandadorian, he and his wife have squabbled considerably over their religious differences over the years.

Dahmold and Serrana took in Mandorel after the great fire.
