Background

Born in 810 as an orphan and delivered to the Bailiwick of the Blessed Tharvane, he became an acolyte of archpriest Brenthan, the old bailiff there. As a half-elf, his childhood was much troubled, but he found solace in the Church.

In the late 820s and 30s, Mathamere, while a young priest and retainer of the bailiff, became involved in a significant border war between Mandadorian Quadrain and the Melistoese pagans. Although young in this conflict, he began to forge a name for himself.

In 829, the Neutralian Scourge began and devastated southern Quadrain. In a fearsome battle, Mathamere was all but slain by the Neutralian commander Nicamur, whose mace caved in part of his skull--a wound which still has its mark to the present. After receiving this blow and being left for dead in the battlefield, Mathamere crawled into the great Osholan Forest, where the rangers and elves of Manlen Grove healed him. Eventually, after many tests, Mathamere was admitted into the Order of Manlen Grove.

Returning to the Bailiwick of the Blessed Tharvane now as a ranger, Mathamere likewise took on Holy Orders. Fighting in many skirmishes with the Melistoese

An orphan, and acolyte of Brenthan the Archpriest of Blessed Tharvane, who eventually became Archbishop of Tharkin, after holding the episcopate at Nolath. Mathamere is permanently maimed by the blow of Neutralian crusader from his youth. After receiving the blow, he crawled into the Osholoan Forest, where the rangers of Manlen Grove healed him. After many tests, he became a member of the Order at Manlen. Mathamere is famous for his many adventures and successes. He fought in the border war against the Melistoese of Faelin, slaying their commander in battle, for which he was knighted a Commander of the Order of St. Quadrain by the Deputy Lord General of the Order, Lord Dareth. He has travelled in the dark lands of Faelin, and fought in the North against evil Encyclonians, as he was called by the Baron of Quadrain to do so.
