Deity/Patrion

Stromnaus, Kanosian god of Thunder and Lightening

Description

Arnulians are said to be descendants of the Cloud Giants, while Entalians are said to be descendants of Storm Giants.

Religious Practices

Specifically, upon birth, the baby priest-to-be are washed in one of the great two rivers, named after Kanos two eldest sons, who followed him as kings, Arnul and Ental. They afterwards join a priest, and learn the oaths and rites. The Arnulians typically wear white and Entalians grey. This is because in legend Stromnaus gave Arnul power over snow and Ental power over the clouds and lightening.

Sacrifice is considered part of the worship of Stronmaus. Before battle, typically a billy goat is sacrificed. It must be a vigorous male, generally. The sacrificing priest asks for thanks in battle, then strikes the goat with lightening. Lesser priests will slit the throat with a curved knife, then remove the heart to see if it is strong for batte, usually by seeing if it still beats after battle. The beast is then burned in fire.
